Other top college football games include defending champion Alabama visiting Miami on Saturday, while Notre Dame takes on Florida State on Sunday.

Get football picks for every game from a proven college football model

We'll give you one team to consider backing during the college football's Week 1 schedule. SportsLine's advanced computer model, which simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times, is predicting a 23-18 upset for No. 18 Iowa over No. 17 Indiana in a pivotal Big Ten contest.

Both squads finished 6-2 last year, though no team in the Big Ten finished the year stronger than the Hawkeyes. After dropping its first two games, Iowa won the final six contests with an average margin of victory of 21.8 points. Meanwhile, Indiana lost two of its last four games, one of which came before QB Michael Penix Jr. was injured.

SportsLine's model sees the Hawkeyes leaning on their ground game, particularly All-Big Ten RB Tyler Goodson. The coaches realized he was the key to the team's success as the 2020 season went on, as Goodson averaged 60 rushing yards in Iowa's two losses but 107 yards in its six wins. The model predicts he'll reach the 100-yard threshold while the Iowa defense also creates two turnovers. It not only has Iowa winning outright, but also covering the 3.5-point spread in over 50 percent of simulations.
